Pseudo-chancre Redux with Negative Serology. a Case Report.

چکیده
Pseudo-chancre redux is rare and is defined as a gummatous (tertiary stage) recurrence at the site of the primary chancre (Stokes, Beerman, and Ingraham, 1944). The condition must be distinguished clinically and nosologically from chancre redux (monorecidive), which is an infectious relapse during the early phase of syphilis, at the site of the original chancre, from which treponemes may be recovered. In the tertiary stage of the late phase of syphilis, the routine serological tests for syphilis (Wassermann, Kahn) are usually positive and the Treponema pallidum immobilization (TPI) test almost invariably so. We report here a patient with pseudo-chancre redux in whom both the standard serological tests and the TPI were negative.

Common Skin Diseases
A point on pseudo-chancre redux raised by the reviewer in the last edition has been settled in consonance with the modern opinion in this edition. Among the rare diseases are included pemphigus and under it the Senear-Usher type of it. Concerning the non-essential, this edition compares very unfavourably with the last. The binding has been done badly. Stitches crumple nearly every leaf and cut ...
متن کاملBrucellosis Spondylodiscitis: A case report
Brucellosis is an endemic disease in Iran that is transmitted from animal to human. The clinical manifestations of brucellosis are nonspecific and its complications involve bones and joints. Brucellosis osteomyelitis can mimic the manifestations of neoplasms; therefore, it cannot readily be diagnosed in some cases. Under such circumstances, high incidence can be a helpful factor. We reported a...

Syphilis presenting with balanitis and penile edema is rare, and in most cases has been considered to be a manifestation of primary syphilis. Histologic examination and serology were diagnostic of syphilis, and the patient was successful...
متن کاملThe emergence of the Consultant Venereologist.
It may be questioned whether there is more venereal disease in the United Kingdom today than there was at the turn of the century. Though we may have no statistics relating to that time, this much may be said-there was plenty about and, whatever attitude may have been adopted to sexual indiscretion, in whatever contempt sufferers from venereal disease may have been held by the public, no stigma...
